Garrett County is proud to announce the launch of the Garrett 250 Birthday Bash: Celebrating America Together event! This kick-off reception is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST at Ace’s Run Restaurant and Pub (lower level), located at 20160 Garrett Highway, Oakland, MD 21550.
This special reception marks the official launch of Garrett 250 Birthday Bash: Celebrating America Together, a year-long, Garrett County Government–led initiative honoring 250 years of American history as told through the unique experiences and stories of Garrett County’s people, places, and communities.
In preparation for this historic milestone, the Garrett County Commissioners formed the Garrett 250 Commission to lead the county’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The Commission’s mission is “Honoring Garrett County and American history: The diverse people, places, and stories that have shaped the past 250 years.” The kickoff reception provides an opportunity to introduce this initiative and engage the community in shaping the year ahead.
The kickoff event offers community members, local leaders, and partners an opportunity to gather, connect, and learn how to take part in the celebration ahead of the Garrett 250 Birthday Bash taking place on July 18, 2026, at the Garrett County Fairgrounds.
Highlights of the upcoming countywide celebration include exhibits, music, family-friendly activities, a patriotic concert honoring veterans and community history, and a spectacular finale drone show that brings together the rich heritage and vibrant future of Garrett County.
The Garrett 250 Birthday Bash: Celebrating America Together Kick-Off Reception will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST at Ace’s Run Restaurant and Pub (lower level), located at 20160 Garrett Highway in Oakland, Maryland. Admission is $10 with pre-registration and $15 at the door.
