GC Community Reinvestment Advisory Committee - Board Openings – Two Community Representatives

Garrett County Community Reinvestment Advisory Committee Board Openings – Two (2) Community Representatives

The Garrett County Community Reinvestment Advisory Committee is a local initiative funded by adult use cannabis tax revenues, distributed to support community–based programs that benefit low–income residents and areas disproportionately impacted by past cannabis law enforcement.

The primary mission of the Committee is to advise the County Commissioners on the distribution of funds to ensure they supplement, rather than replace existing services. The committee identifies geographic areas and populations most impacted by past cannabis enforcement and recommends funding for community–based initiatives.

The committee consists of 10 members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for staggered two–year terms. Members may be reappointed for an additional two (2) two–year terms.

The Committee shall develop and maintain a County Community Reinvestment Advisory Committee Plan that:

1.   Identifies low–income and disproportionately impacted areas and populations.
2.  Specifies permitted uses of CRRF funds.
3.  Establishes transparent award processes.
4.  Defines required performance measures and reporting expectations.
5.  Incorporates feedback from at least one public hearing.
6.  Is submitted to OSE for consultation prior to implementation or revision.
7.  Is published publicly before any funds are distributed.

Community Representatives should represent community–based programs that benefit low–income residents and areas disproportionately impacted by past cannabis law enforcement.

Letters of interest should be submitted to:  gccrrc@garrettcountymd.gov  by Friday, September 25, 2026.
