Snow is expected to begin in Western Maryland on Sunday January 5th. Amounts of 12-18” are expected in Southern Garrett County with 8-12” expected in Northern Garrett County.
There is potential for up to 25” of snow in some isolated areas in the county.
The heaviest snow will be from Monday morning from 2AM – 10AM. Expect 2-3” per hour snow fall rates during this time frame.
* Should you experience a power outage and/or lack of ability to heat your residence, warming stations and shelters will be available for emergency situations. *
The Emergency Operations Center should be contacted at 301-334-7280 for any sheltering or warming stations needs at the following locations:

-Bittinger Fire Dept
