National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week – Shift Spotlight (3)

As we continue recognizing National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we are proud to highlight more of the dedicated 911 professionals

A special thank you to Southern Garrett Rescue Company 9 and our Medical Director, Dr Rameen Shafiei for providing meals and goodies for our staff today—we truly appreciate your support.

Today, we recognize:

Ryan Yoder

Ryan has been serving as a 911 Specialist since 2016 and currently holds the rank of 911 Specialist II. He is the senior dispatcher on shift, providing leadership through call taking, dispatching, and training of new staff members.

Ryan is nationally certified in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD), and Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD), and is a certified Maryland Emergency Medical Dispatcher. His experience and mentorship are key assets to the team and play a critical role in daily operations.

In addition, Ryan is a Nationally Registered Paramedic and a volunteer firefighter, further demonstrating his commitment to serving the community both in and out of the communications center.

Brittney Johnson

Brittney joined our team in 2025 and currently holds the rank of 911 Specialist. She is actively completing her training process and has already successfully obtained her national certifications in EMD, EFD, and EPD, along with her Maryland Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification.

In addition, Brittney is a Maryland Cardiac Rescue Technician (CRT) and volunteers with Southern Garrett Rescue Squad and the Confluence Volunteer Fire Department, bringing valuable field experience to her role in communications.
