As we continue recognizing National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we are proud to highlight more of the dedicated professionals who serve as the first, first responders for Garrett County.
Today, we recognize from left to right:
Sabrina Jenkins
Sabrina has been serving as a 911 Specialist since 2022 and currently holds the rank of 911 Specialist II. She is the senior dispatcher on shift, providing leadership through call taking, dispatching, and training of new staff members.
Sabrina is nationally certified in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD), and Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD), and is a certified Maryland Emergency Medical Dispatcher. Her experience plays a critical role in daily operations.
In addition, Sabrina has experience in the volunteer fire and medical service and enjoys spending her weekends camping with her husband.
Emily Custer
Emily joined our team in 2025 and currently holds the rank of 911 Specialist. She is actively completing her training process and has already successfully obtained her national certifications in EMD, EFD, and EPD, along with her Maryland Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification.
Emily also brings valuable experience from the hospital setting, having worked in the Emergency Department and other clinical areas, which enhances her ability to serve callers in critical situations.
Kira Rinker
Kira joined our team in 2025 and currently holds the rank of 911 Specialist I. She is nationally certified in EMD, EFD, and EPD, along with her Maryland Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification.
Kira recently celebrated her one-year work anniversary and promotion to 911 Specialist I. She has been a vital part of our 911 team and continues to excel in her role. Outside of work, Kira enjoys working on her family farm.
