National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week – Thank you

As we close out National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank all of our 911 Specialists for the incredible work they do each and every day.

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate 49 years of 911 service in Garrett County. For nearly five decades, our telecommunicators have been the calm voice in chaos—answering the call, coordinating response, and helping save lives across our community.

To our team:

Your professionalism, dedication, and commitment do not go unnoticed. Whether it’s a routine call or a life-threatening emergency, you are there—24/7/365—serving as the first, first responders.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to our local fire and EMS departments for their generosity and support throughout the week. Your meals, visits, and appreciation mean a great deal to our staff and truly highlight the strong partnership we share.

To all of our 911 professionals—past and present—thank you for your service to Garrett County.

When you call 911, they answer. Always.
