Minimum Livability Code

The Document Minimum Livability Code of Garrett County (3.97 MB) became effective January 1, 1989. The Livability Code applies to long-term rental properties. The landlord is responsible for conditions of the property and must provide certain minimum requirements.


The Department of Planning & Land Management is charged with enforcement of this ordinance in the areas of the County outside of the incorporated towns. For more information please contact the main office at 301-334-1920.
