You can save money on your electricity bills while purchasing clean solar energy. Community Solar is helpful for folks who cannot put solar panels on/at their home or for those who live in apartments.
What is Community Solar?
- A company installs a solar project within the Potomac Edison/First Energy territory. They are connected to the grid there.
- Local residents within the Potomac Edison/First Energy territory can sign up to purchase their power from one of those solar projects. Sign-up is free.
- Residents start saving by receiving credits for their share of the energy generated from the panels (up to 10% normally, and up to 25% for low- and moderate- income residents).
