Garrett County Solid Waste & Recycling will hold its 2026 Citizen Scrap Tire Drop-Off Event on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Garrett County Fairgrounds, 270 Mosser Road, McHenry.
Collection starts at 7 a.m. in the fairgrounds’ upper parking lot, using the Mosser Road entrance, and will continue until the containers are full. Tires will be taken first come, first served.
Residents may bring up to 10 passenger or light tires per residence, on or off the rim. Anyone dropping off tires should bring a valid ID or proof of residency. Commercial haulers will not be accepted.
Organizers are asking residents to carpool when they can.
The drop-off day is sponsored by the Maryland Department of the Environment and Maryland Environmental Service.
